There are a great many reasons Kathy Rudolph Petrino has a passion for writing about her extensive travels, but none is more important than her desire to teach people how to have the best visits possible to her favorite haunts, thus making them thrive, so she can visit again and again. Of course, Kathy also wants those who read her blog to make fewer of missteps than she on the same trips. That’s because she has a generous spirit.
One of Kathy Rudolph Petrino’s favorite destinations is Florida’s Emerald Coast, which is located on the state’s northern Gulf Coast. The region used to be called the “Redneck Riviera,” although that name has fallen by the wayside as celebrities and “beautiful people” have transformed this motley assortment of beach towns and resorts by encouraging rehabilitation and revitalization. Nowthe “Emerald Coast” of Florida is attracting savvy investors, who have built lots of new hotels and condos, including the region’s first-ever five-star resort, the Henderson Beach Resort. During this boom, the town of Seaside also has become one of the most beautiful and eco-friendly towns in Florida.
